CLIENT CARE PROVIDER As a Client Care Provider your responsibilities will include providing exceptional client service; demonstrating responsive and pleasant telephone call handling; effectively scheduling appointments; keeping accurate medical records; clerical work; processing inpatients, outpatients and campers; financial recording, collecting and safeguarding; client education; promotion of hospital product and services and support of the hospital administrator and hospital team. This position requires practical knowledge of the hospital's procedures, policies and services, client and patient treatment protocols, word processing, computers and terminology used in the veterinary hospital.
LICENSED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) are responsible for providing exceptional client service; assisting veterinarians in the Practice of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and Nursing care; to perform all medical/surgical procedures under the direct supervision of the veterinary staff; to perform all laboratory in-hospital procedures and to prepare specimens for outside laboratories. To assist veterinarians in outpatient by taking histories, vital signs, weights. To advocate veterinary care for patients through client education. To provide nursing care for in-hospital patients. To conduct pre-admissions examinations and discharge patients. To have client contact through these visits and through other ways such as call-back phone calls. To help maintain proper care of boarding animals and assist kennel staff. To maintain legally defensible medical records in cooperation with the veterinary staff. General Housekeeping duties such as keeping our hospital clean and sanitary and keeping our patients as germ-free as possible is required. Includes administrative duties (i.e. OSHA, Inventory, Computers, Meetings, Special events ...) and Professional and Personal Growth. Qualified candidates have a 2 or 4 year degree in Veterinary Technology and a Pennsylvania State License to work as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in good standing. Practical knowledge of hospital procedures, policies and services, client and patient treatment protocols, word processing, computers and terminology used in the veterinary hospital is necessary.
VETERINARY ASSISTANT A Veterinary Assistant supports technicians, veterinarians, ward attendants, client care providers and administration in all duties of the hospital. The assistant assists with animal restraint, housekeeping, client communication, treatments and surgeries. Responsibilities may include: caring for boarding and hospitalized animals, including cage cleaning, exercising, feeding, observation for signs of illness, parasite and disease control, laundry, bathing procedures, keeping animals clean. General cleaning of all areas, building and yard maintenance to maintain clean, odorless and attractive environment. Professional, cheerful and helpful attitude. Performance of simple in-house laboratory tests, completion of forms for outside laboratory, filing laboratory reports, and clean up of laboratory area. Unpacking, labeling and stocking of hospital supplies. Practical knowledge of hospital procedures, policies and services, client and patient treatment protocols, word processing, computers and terminology used in the veterinary hospital is necessary. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and formal or on-the-job training in veterinary/medical assisting.
WARD ATTENDANT Ward personnel provide for the daily care of dogs and cats in the wards and maintain facilities in a clean and orderly fashion. Attendants are responsible for animal handling, bathing and grooming, cleaning, feeding, laundry, waste disposal, stocking animal and hospital supplies and performing janitorial duties such as sweeping and mopping.
